Bobiverse is Dennis E. Taylor's engineering-humor space opera: Bob Johansson signs up to have his brain cryonically preserved, dies, and wakes up as the software of a self-replicating probe - who then copies himself, and copies himself, until the galaxy is full of Bobs arguing with each other about naming conventions. It is the rare hard-SF series that runs on cheerfulness, and it is in mid-flight: book six, The Infinite Extent, arrived as an audiobook on September 10, 2026, with print editions announced for January 2027, and a seventh book is listed as to come. Strict: We Are Legion (We Are Bob) (2016), For We Are Many (2017), All These Worlds (2017) - the original trilogy closes cleanly at All These Worlds, and newcomers can stop there, but almost nobody does. Heaven's River (2020) opens a second arc around a single lost Bob; Not Till We Are Lost (2024) widens it again; The Infinite Extent (2026) is the newest - audiobook September 10, 2026, print editions January 2027 - with a seventh book listed as TBA. Read in publication order throughout; the Bobs' history accumulates.
