Lincoln Child Books in Order
Lincoln Child is the other half of Preston & Child - twenty-two Pendergast novels with Douglas Preston since Relic (1995), mapped on this site's own Pendergast and Douglas Preston pages - and, on his own, a techno-thriller writer with a series engine of his own: Jeremy Logan, the Yale enigmalogist who is hired when a case has something impossible in it. Logan has run six novels from the undersea dig of Deep Storm (2007) to Chrysalis (2022); beside them stand two solo standalones, Utopia (2002) and Death Match (2004), the high-tech park and the dating-service AI. This page maps Child's solo shelf and hands off to the partnership pages (1995–present).
Where to start
Relic (1995) for the partnership - on the Pendergast page here. Solo: Deep Storm (2007), Logan #1; tech readers: Utopia (2002).

Does the reading order matter?
The Jeremy Logan series, strict: Deep Storm (2007), Terminal Freeze (2009), The Third Gate (2012), The Forgotten Room (2015), Full Wolf Moon (2017), Chrysalis (2022) - each an impossible-thing investigation, with Logan's own history surfacing gradually, so order pays. The standalones, Utopia (2002) and Death Match (2004), read anywhere. The partnership: Relic (1995) through Angel of Vengeance (2024), twenty-two Pendergast novels - including the Diogenes trilogy (Brimstone, Dance of Death, The Book of the Dead) and the Helen trilogy (Fever Dream, Cold Vengeance, Two Graves), which must be read in their internal order - plus Pendergast: The Beginning (September 2026), the origin novel. The full sequencing lives on the Pendergast page here
Which one is the best?
Utopia (2002), the park; Deep Storm (2007), the Logan opener; Chrysalis (2022), the newest solo.
